How it is calculated

We count the words and divide by the pace of a commercial read: about 2.5 words per second in English. It is the same pace the SpotFacil studio uses to estimate length.

Pauses marked with <break time="0.6s" /> add the time shown. Numbers and prices count the way they are spoken: write "twelve ninety" instead of "12.90" so the count matches the voice.

Frequently asked questions

How many words fit in 30 seconds?

Between 70 and 75 words at a retail pace. To leave room for the music at the start and end, aim for 65.

Why might the real voice run a little longer or shorter?

Every voice has its own pace, and long words or spelled-out numbers take more time. The estimate is off by only a few seconds, and in the studio you hear a preview before generating.

What if my script runs too long?

Cut adjectives and repetition, keep a single offer and end with a short call to action. The tool shows how many words are left over for each length.
